Jörg Oehlmann received the 2nd Price of the 1822 University Award for Excellence in Teaching 2017 (Link to university homepage).

Bianca König and Sina Ostermann received the Procter & Gamble Sustainability Grant 2017 for her master theses 'Analysis of bacterial exoenzyme activities for the assessment of the self-purification potential of streams in the river Nidda catchment area (Hesse)' and 'Influence of storage conditions on the endocrine activity of environmental samples from water bodies and sewage treatment plants', respectively (Link to university homepage). Bianca and Sina are the eleventh and twelfth Procter & Gamble laureates from our Department after Annkatrin Weber in 2016, Dr. Carolin Völker in 2015, Dr. Martin Wagner and Ann-Marie Oppold in 2013, Dr. Daniel Stalter in 2011, Leonie Becker in 2009, Dr. Christian Vogt and Dr. Dominic Kaiser in 2008, Dr. Simone Galluba in 2007 and Dr. Martina Duft in 2004.

Martin Wagner has been offered a chair for Ecotoxicology at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim (Link to NTNU). Martin will start his new position in August 2017. We congratulate him proudly and wish him every success in the new position.

Katharina Heye was elected as vice chair of the SETAC Europe Student Advisory Council.
