Thursday, 6 June 2024, 2:10 pm - 5:45 pm

Join us on June 6th for a guided city tour of Mainz. Gain insights into its rich history as a cultural and political hub (the "Golden City of Mainz"), from its days as the Roman capital of Germania Superior to its roles as an electoral princes’ residence and capital, an archbishop's seat, a university town, and a fortress city, or its current status as the state capital of Rhineland-Palatinate. Learn about Johannes Gutenberg, the inventor of movable type printing and the namesake of Mainz University. Additionally, this tour offers an opportunity to network with other early career researchers from the region in an informal setting.

The precise meeting point will be communicated via email. Expect the tour to last approximately one and a half hours.
